Pot Luck Ideas

Recommended Posts

We go to the occasional pot luck, or dish to pass, dinner.  Looking for some new ideas.  Getting tired of taking the standards like Mac and Cheese, baked ziti or five bean salad.  What are your favorites?

My wife makes a veggie pizza that's always a hit as an hors d'oeuvre. Also a couple other easy to throw togwther recipes. I'll have to post the recipe later.

Yeah, yours is always a hit. Maybe post the recipe in a new thread?

Yeah they were originally meant to be an appetizer. Could easily be done. Kelly now makes a pretty great taco soup.

We made buffalo chicken pasta one night and that was pretty good. Just think chicken wing dip with ziti or rigatoni shells.

What's that?  Just the sound of it is making my mouth water.

Prepare your jumbo shells. Generally 1 block of cream cheese per pound of meat add in the required taco seasoning stuff the shells with meat and cream cheese mixture cover with your favorite taco sauce or salsa bake for 10-15 minutes then cover the shells in either broke up taco shells or tortilla chips and cheese bake for 10 more minutes and enjoy. The original recipe called for chili powder but taco seasoning works better and its easier. You can make them nice and neat for appetizers or just slop the toppings on and spoon them out. They really are delicious.

Went to a put luck last night, we took two dishes.  Our usual home made sheet cheese pizzas and a tomato/cucumber salad with Italian dressing and chunks of sharp cheese.

As for other dishes...

There were two type of meatballs, one in standard sauce and the other tasted like the recipe above.  A green bean casserole, potato salad, coleslaw, chili, shrimp ring, baked ziti, plus assorted desserts.  The usual fare.
